Soundscape || Final Pieces and Reflective Statement

During this project I learnt a lot about making noises, and about using the program Adobe Audition to produce said noises. The aim was to create a 30 second sample of sound that believably reflects an unknown or ambiguous subject. To achieve this outcome I studied three original images in increased detail, using existing sources as a sort of rough guideline to what I should be producing.

By planning out my activity on this particular project I have been able to moderate my own progress over several weeks, and therefore maximise my efforts on it despite handling a couple of projects at once. Understanding the scale of the task given was probably the most questionable thing in this project. Though its undeniable that I may be able to finish a project ahead of time and optimise it in the meantime, the usage of balance between projects in this situation is key.

The main thing I worried about in this project was my understanding of the programs and how long it could take to understand them to a level where I'm comfortable to use them effectively. On top of that I have a very limited grip of their capabilities or what they may do for my work. Also, it is sometimes hard for me to handle my attention span when I'm feeling inspired, which may be beneficial for whatever I'm working on, but not really the point to my efforts.

The best solution I can think of to these problems is to put in as much study as I can in the meantime, which also means setting aside some projects. This may actually be beneficial to working since it allows some kind of breathing space for new ideas. Regarding the short attention span, I definitely need to apply myself more, and so therefore it would be best to dedicate 2 hours a day to solid study. Whatever time after that I may work on my own efforts.
