Script to Screen || Character Design Finals

Here I have finalised my characters orthographs and separate mood boards. There is also the picture of the antagonist which I will cover in a sec. I wanted to focus on having a consistent palette across the whole project, so they do share colours as well to indicate their role in the story.

When I was designing Father I was initially cautious to avoid definition, however, the first pictures sketched in response to that thought were very generic so to get over it I added a fedora to the design. I find it to be quite flattering in this case since the owner had a sensibility provided by the suit. You may have also noticed how I used a very dark blue tone instead of a simple black in my orthographs, this was also to exercise the palette that I mentioned earlier. Since the Father never shows his face in the story he exercises emotions with his hands instead, the eye level for our main character.

The antagonist, or Vulture as I prefer to call it, is a formation of our girl's future, a malicious scavenging beast that finds her effort to change her future as an assault on its very existence. In this design I took care to give it the same proportions as the main character before editing the separate features. The skull and wings work together to give an air of death to the character, enhancing its antagonistic role.
