In this set of thumbnails, I took the pictures that were commented to me from a previous post, and converted elements of them into shapes which were then used as a basis to create these landscapes. Some time ago I mentioned how the stylisation of thumbnails doesn't necessarily have to be realistic, since the overall lighting, dimensions and composition of the image will add up to create the city atmosphere anyway, plus it really defines what the place would be about rather than just having soulless design. This could potentially help me look at this project in a different way, after all, I have defined all the buildings I would like to have in Herbert Leupina's city, I've just got to redesign them (which I will do in the form of more thumbnails in the future).
Besides that, this was a really experimental set of thumbnails looking at atmosphere rather than composition or design. I did one thumbnail in the far bottom right which was basically an attempt at modernist structure. I will collect more shapes and things in the future so I can improve on this current understanding with my project.
really like this set, Anabel - very expressive.
