Life Drawing || Marker Pen
Following on from my last intentions described previously, during my time at this session I worked using some old professional quality marker pens I had gotten at some point in the past. Before, I had used them to colour in cartoon drawings on ink proof paper, so I had not foreseen the trouble that would stem from their translation from their intended usage into life drawing.
When working with the coloured pens, it is best to keep things simple and clean. This is the same reason why caricature artists use these pens, since they can quickly produce a satisfactory line that will dry out quickly on paper. Perhaps I should have had more foresight going in, since a little research can go a long way in art based activities. Knowing that I could have made some interesting cartoons using the model lends much disappointment but will not stop me going in and trying it elsewhere when I get the chance.
Maybe I'll try drawing some penguins in the Falklands using the markers...
