Life Drawing || Applying Artistic Licences

On Monday my focus was not only to apply my newly explored figure drawing techniques using geometric shapes, but also to recognise the application of 'artistic license' and the idea of a purpose in a pose. For these pictures I used a multicolour biro for the sake of showing my construction lines, while also testing my ability in getting things right the first time around.

I think that these were successful for a number of reasons especially the sitting pose. The red ink actually did what I wanted it to so that's a plus. the solid black helps to brings out points of focus from the muted figure, although I initially thought that using it would make the construction lines pop out more. for the sitting pose I applied a bit of context to the image for that extra dimension; a lady sitting in a sauna with a bit of cloth wrapped around her. The cloth was an afterthought to cover up the bit I didn't want to draw, but it did add some grace to the picture I believe.
