    Hey Anabel,

I've been enjoying your creative development during this project and I like the conceptualisation of the buildings as artefacts associated with your artist and his sphere of clients etc. I'm not sure that your concept art composition is making the best of your achievements in terms of the 'paper pile' building and typewriter building, because the composition is making us look past and over all the interesting stuff, focusing us instead on the matte painting component. It just feels as if our noses are sort of shoved up against all your structures, leaving us no choice but to look beyond them. There's a lot of invention and fun in your buildings... and the truth is, I can't really see them because I feel like I'm too close. I'd honestly look again at your idea and consider some alternate set-ups that give your city and its landmarks a bit more room to breathe and be appreciated.

In regards to your orthographs, they're not orthographs and they're not production art either. Production art assets are polished final drawings seeking to convey the asset completely in terms of colour, shape, textures etc. while the orthographs are technical in nature and require precision, consistent scale and clean line-art. Currently, your orthographs are more like thumbnails in the process of working out your production art and/or orthographs - as such, they're a long way off where they need to be. I've suggested that students consider using the more controlled tools and techniques you've learned in Illustrator for the execution of your orthographs.

The other thing I want you to do is really ensure you're looking 'out' at architectural references to ensure that your buildings - however mimetic of objects - convince in terms of their construction, the nuts and bolts of their fabrication and materiality. I don't want your buildings to simply look like giant CG objects in a landscape - I want them to be buildings in the form of giant objects. You should check out the sculptures of Claes Oldenburg for reference, as he upsizes objects too - but really look at his work to see the effect of weathering and the nitty-gritty of their construction:

Short version - look again at your composition - I don't think it's currently allowing the concept for your city to shine as well as it might.
