Today I looked at alternate forms of mediums that I could use to develop a more defined form, with focus on previous methods to sharpen this notion. I feel that it could have been better if i'd thought through the composition of the images first, and performed quicker analysis on the parts of the body in the 5 minute exercises. Naturally acrylic may have been a mistake, so the lecturer gave me the recommendation to go back to working with ink in the meantime, which is something i completely agree with. I need to work on my analysis technique before attempting any more experimentation with new mediums.
Those bottom coloured pencil/pastel studies are great, Anabel. I just wonder if you could up the quality of your life-drawing pics - I don't think they're all in focus, and I wonder if a little bit of post-production in Photoshop wouldn't go a miss - just to punch up the whites and the contrasts, and stop everything looking greyish?
